Lunch Box Talks

Lunch Box Talks

 What is Lunch Box Talks?

A parent presents the pros and cons about their career, how a student can get into the career, and other details that the parent wants to share.

When does Lunch Box Talks run?

We will start the week of November 18th and go until our last speaker has presented. We will have one speaker per week, from 12:15 to 12:45pm. Mrs. Feenstra will be in touch with you to coordinate the best date for your presentation.

Where will Lunch Box Talks take place?

In the Learning Commons at Ecole Airdrie Middle School.

What careers are students interested in?

All careers. Last year, we had between 8 and 65 students in each session. The spectrum of the different types of careers appealed to many different students.

What are the benefits of Lunch Box Talks?

One of the three goals for Rocky View Schools is to create future-ready students. Lunch Box Talks is a great opportunity for our students to see adults in careers they may wish to explore and plan backward regarding how to get into the career. This allows students to connect the learning in the classroom to the eventual career they desire. Students appreciate adult perspectives on future employment and value these sessions greatly.

Land Acknowledgment

Rocky View Schools would like to acknowledge the land and recognize all the Indigenous Peoples whose footprints have marked these lands from time immemorial. Together, we can learn and honour the Ways of Knowing of Indigenous Peoples for all future generations.
